Behind the Lens
Fine Art & Lifestyle Photographer | Real Estate Broker | Owner of Curate Roanoke
2026 Best of Smith Mountain Eagle Award
If you’re here, it’s likely you’ve connected with my work—and are curious about the story behind it.
Photography has been part of my life from the very beginning. I grew up learning through the lens of my grandfather, a photographer who first taught me how to shoot on film and gifted me my very first Minolta camera. That foundation shaped not only my technical eye, but my appreciation for capturing moments with intention and meaning.
I graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Clothing & Textiles, which continues to influence my approach to styling, composition, and detail. Today, I am based at Smith Mountain Lake and in Roanoke, Virginia, where I own Curate Roanoke, my downtown studio designed to offer a refined, fully styled photography experience.
In addition to photography, I am also a real estate broker, which deeply influences my eye for composition, light, and space. This dual perspective allows me to approach every session with both an artistic and editorial mindset—thoughtfully capturing environments just as intentionally as the people within them.
My work blends a love for both editorial portraiture and authentic, unscripted moments. While I appreciate the beauty of a perfectly posed image, I am most drawn to the in-between—the quiet, fleeting connections that often go unnoticed. A whispered secret between sisters, a father’s steady hand, a mother’s gaze, the moment two people lock eyes and everything else fades away.
Those are the moments I strive to preserve—creating imagery that feels timeless, emotional, and true to who you are in that exact season of life.
A few personal notes—I have a sweet tooth (cupcakes are my weakness), a love for hydrangeas, and a constant need to organize and reimagine spaces. But above all, I genuinely love what I do, and feel incredibly honored to document the moments that matter most.
Based in Roanoke and Smith Mountain Lake, and available for travel.
